A La Kart - Go Kart Racing Across Florida

Attendees can take the wheel at go-kart facilities around the state, many of which go full-throttle when it comes to hands-on entertainment options.

Go-karting is the main event at I-Drive NASCAR in Orlando, though bowling, basketball and arcade games are also on the agenda for teambuilding at this indoor, climate-controlled facility.

“We can handle groups of up to 500, but for groups of 10 to 80, you can really do some good teambuilding,” says Stephanie Strobel, event sales manager at the facility. “We try to reinforce the principles of collaboration and leadership. We encourage everyone to participate in go-karting, or at least give it a try, so that everyone can feel engaged. We also do tag-team bowling and basketball shoot-outs. It’s a great stress release when you’ve been working all day.”

I-Drive also features 5,000 square feet of event space, plus a full restaurant and bar, so groups can make a day or night of it.

“It’s a big facility. You walk in and go ‘wow,’” Strobel says. “Every spot has a view of the track, so you never feel disconnected.”

A cool new attraction on the go-kart circuit is Jacksonville’s Autobahn Indoor Speedway, featuring two different tracks and a variety of teambuilding experiences.

Fun Spot America in Kissimmee kicks it up a notch with a multilevel go-kart track featuring hairpin turns and steep hills. Roller coasters also add to the thrills, while less intense options include an arcade midway and a variety of family-style rides. Groups get a personal welcome and other perks.

Celebrating its grand opening this month is Florida Tracks & Trails in Punta Gorda, an adventure park offering 22 miles of ATV trails and four AMA-sanctioned motocross tracks, with full equipment rentals on-site.

“Our trail systems are very much like a ski resort, from a bunny trail all the way up to expert,” says Rachael Ketterman, marketing director at the facility. “So we can accommodate any type of group and offer different levels of instruction. We do teambuilding as well.”

Seven paintball playing fields and a freshwater beach with a tiki lounge also add to the fun here, while event spaces include an expo hall that can seat about 2,500, a 45-acre event lawn and a selection of party pavilions. Still to come: an RV campground and a zipline eco adventure.
