Akron
The Hilton Garden Inn Akron opened in downtown Akron in November, the first new hotel to debut in the city since 1980. The130-room hotel offers a full-service restaurant, two boardrooms and a 3,700-square-foot ballroom.

Cincinnati
The Renaissance Cincinnati Downtown Hotel opened in the historic Bartlett Building, the tallest building in Ohio when it was completed in 1901. The 323-room hotel includes 40 executive suites, a full-service restaurant and over 14,000 square feet of meeting space.

The Hyatt Regency Cincinnati completed a $23 million renovation that included the refurbishment of all 491 guest rooms. The hotel also added 3,450 square feet of meeting space.

Cleveland
The 600-room Hilton Cleveland Downtown-Convention Center Hotel is under construction and slated to open by June 2016. The $272 million property will be connected to the Cleveland Convention Center and the Global Center for Health Innovation. In addition to multiple ballrooms and meeting rooms, the hotel will include a rooftop bar available for events.

The 484-room Westin Cleveland opened last year in a building near the Cleveland Convention Center that formerly housed a Crowne Plaza Hotel, which closed in 2011. The property, which underwent a $70 million renovation, offers 20,000 square feet of meeting space and a new restaurant called Urban Farmer.

The Metropolitan at The 9 opened last fall in a mixed-use downtown complex. Part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, the 156-room hotel offers 12 meeting rooms, including the Mint Ballroom, which accommodates up to 569 people. Also available for private events at the hotel are Alex Theater, a live entertainment venue, and Vault and Speakeasy, a lounge and nightclub.

The 122-room Kimpton Hotel Cleveland is expected to open within the next year in the historic Schofield Building, which will also include luxury residences. The hotel will offer a chef-driven restaurant and 7,400 square feet of meeting space, including a ballroom and outdoor roof terrace.

Columbus
Red Brick Occasions, a full-service banquet and event venue opened in a converted historic warehouse in the downtown Red Brick District. Managed by Sidebar Global Catering, the 4,000-square-foot space can accommodate up to 125 people for dinners and up to 250 people for cocktail receptions.

Dayton
The Dayton Grand Hotel is undergoing a property-wide renovation set for completion by the end of the year when the hotel will be rebranded as a Doubletree by Hilton. The project includes the refurbishment of all 184 guest rooms and 6,000 square feet of meeting space, plus the addition of a bistro-style restaurant and pool area. The hotel is remaining open during the redo.

Sandusky
The 70-room Hampton Inn & Suites Sandusky/Milan opened near the Cedar Point Amusement Park and Summit Motorsports Park. The hotel offers a 1,000-square-foot meeting room.

Toledo
The 212-room Radisson Hotel at The University of Toledo opened last year. Located on the University of Toledo Medical Campus, the hotel offers 14,000 square feet of meeting space, a full-service restaurant, an indoor pool and a 24-hour business center.
