Dubbed the Marlin Capital of the World, sport fishing is a main attraction in Los Cabos for groups.
Solmar Hotels & Resorts offers a Hook & Cook service for groups interested in eating what they catch. The hotel collection’s team of chefs are able to prepare nearly any fish that a guest hooks themselves while out on the Sea of Cortes or Pacific Ocean.
Each of Solmars’s properties offers a slightly different variation of this service. For example, at Grand Solmar Land’s End Resort & Spa guests can have their fish prepared cold or hot in a variety of ways such as ceviche, carpaccio, sashimi, fried, grilled, blackened, pan seared of tacos with soup and salad.
At Playa Grande Resort & Spa the Hook & Cook provides the option of breaded, grilled or blacked served with soup or salad and seasonal sauteed vegetables, rice and flour and corn tortillas. Groups of Solmar All-Inclusive Resort & Beach Club can have fish prepared breaded, tempura style or grilled and served with rice and vegetables.
Sport fishing companies in Los Cabos also cater to groups. Pisces Sportfishing and Luxury Yachts is one of the largest charter fleets in Mexico with a variety of vessels, from the basic Baja Panga, which is a skiff with outboard motor, to mega yachts. Most popular are the Standard cruisers, which are 28 and 31 feet. Large Sportfishers over 50 feet are also available as are luxury cruisers.
Picante Sportfishing also offers an extensive fleet of charter yachts, as well. Boats can hold from four to 10 guests for outings.
