Los Cabos
- The Cape, a Thompson Hotel will debut in June n the Cabo San Lucas region. The upscale hotel will feature 161 guest rooms. Amenities will include an infinity pool with swim-up bar, a six-story rooftop lounge and garden, a spa and a fitness center with a private outdoor cabana for treatments.
- The Marquis Los Cabos recently completed a $10 million renovation and redesign. The property features 235 ocean-front rooms as well as 12,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space. The property also offers a 15,000-square-foot spa, four restaurants, three pools, seaside gazebo event space and teambuilding options.
- The Resort at Pedregal Cabo San Lucas, formerly known as the Capella Pedregal Hotel Cabo San Lucas, reopened at the end of January featuring 66 rooms and suites and 22 residential-style villas.
- One & Only Palmilla Los Cabos reopened in April with upgrades to its spa and fitness center. The resort offers 172 guest rooms, 24-hour butler service and a variety of event venues for groups.
- Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort is slated to reopen in July. The resort offers 375 guest rooms. Meeting space includes the El Dorado Ballroom for up to 800.
- The all-inclusive Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos will reopen in August with 619 suites. The resort also features 35,000 square feet of meeting facilities.
- Hyatt Place Los Cabos will reopen in August with 157 guest rooms and three meeting rooms, the largest measuring 1,892 square feet.
- The Westin Resort & Spa Los Cabos is set to reopen in September with 243 guest rooms and more than 11,900 square feet of indoor function space in its 12 meeting rooms.
- Melia Cabo Real is slated to reopen by December. The resort offers 306 guest rooms and meeting space for up to 1,100 people.
- Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos is scheduled to be completed in 2016. The 600-room property will feature six restaurants, multiple pool sites and 54,000 square feet of meeting space.
Riviera Nayarit
- The Grand Palladium Vallarta Resort & Spa in Punta de Mita recently completed four years of renovations with the opening of a new water park. Other renovations include revamped guest rooms and lobby areas, new restaurants, and a new outdoor terrace with ocean views.
- The One&Only Mandarina was recently announced and will offer 145 luxury villas and a beach club with private cabanas. The resort will also offer a conference center for meetings. Construction will begin the end of this year.
- Matlali recently opened in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. Set in its own nature preserve overlooking Banderas Bay, this boutique hotel features 40 villa-style accommodations.
- Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit in Nuevo Vallarta recently commenced a gradual $20 million renovation investment that will be completed by 2016. The renovations will include improvements to its 131 suites and spa.
Acapulco
- Grupo Posadas is investing more than $85 million in the new 350-room Fiesta Americana Grand Acapulco Diamante, which will feature three swimming pools, event facilities, and four restaurants. The hotel is slated to open at the end of 2016.
Cancun
- Hyatt Ziva Cancun is slated to open this year. The resort will include 379 suites, 21,000 square feet of meeting space, and 15 bars and restaurants
- Club Med Cancun Yucatan recently renovated its meeting spaces and introduced a new outdoor terrace. The resort offers 376 guest rooms.
- Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort is set to open in 2016 with 450 guest rooms and suites.
- Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Cancun is slated to open in late 2017 with 1,800 oceanfront rooms, six restaurants and an 8 million-gallon, beachfront lagoon-style pool.
Riviera Maya
- Hyatt Playa del Carmen will debut in June with 314 guest rooms, including 36 suites, and a spa. There will be more than 10,000 square feet of flexible function and meeting space incorporated into an independent building attached to the hotel, including a multipurpose ballroom and six meeting rooms.
- In January, Barcelo Maya Beach Resort completed an $80 million renovation focusing on the complex’s Barcelo Maya Beach and Barcelo Maya Caribe resorts. The complex is composed of five adjacent resorts with a total of 2,756 rooms, 20 restaurants and 19 bars. Upgrades include a new clubhouse and a new entertainment center.
