Long Live The King

Billed as ““America’s only atomic powered singer,” Elvis Presley first played Vegas in 1956, performing at the New Frontier’s Venus Room. Then just 21, Presley went on to become a Vegas icon. Along with giving the city its signature Viva Las Vegas! song from his 1964 film of the same name, The King set up the ultimate residency at the International Hotel, playing 837 consecutive sold-out performances there between 1969 and 1976.

Reflagged as the Hilton (1971) and then Las Vegas Hotel & Casino (2012), the hotel was reintroduced last year as Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. This April, the resort debuted the multithematic Graceland Presents Elvis: The Exhibition-The Show-The Experience.

Representing the first-ever permanent Graceland exhibition outside of Memphis, a 28,000-plus-square-foot exhibition features hundreds of Elvis artifacts. The reborn Elvis Presley International Showroom will present limited engagement Elvis-themed live shows on the same stage from Elvis’ record-breaking 1969 through 1976 run. There’s also Elvis Presley’s Graceland Wedding Chapel, the first-ever Las Vegas wedding chapel from Elvis Presley Enterprises.

“Elvis is synonymous with Las Vegas and this property, so we are tremendously excited to have this new attraction and live show here to entertain Las Vegas visitors,” stated David Siegel, CEO of Westgate Resorts in a release. “It is a true honor to join forces with Elvis Presley’s Graceland to bring Elvis to the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. We are thrilled to have Elvis back in the building.”
