Another five oldies—we should all look so good in our golden years:
- Its original 1941 facade intact, the historic landmark, neon-bedecked El Cortez Hotel and Casino is the city’s oldest continuously operating property.
- Originally Virginia’s Cafe (1945) and renamed in 1952 after the atomic testing in the area, Atomic Liquors is the city’s oldest freestanding bar. Count Barbara Streisand among the former celeb patrons.
- Established in 1953, the nearby Bunkhouse Saloon is a newly energized restaurant, bar and live music venue.
- Elvis may have left the building, but he’s still in the house—several Vegas houses actually—including via impersonator Victor Trevino Jr.’s turn in the Legends in Concert show at the Flamingo, and at the new Graceland experience at the Westgate.
- Open 24/7, the free-standing Peppermill Coffee Shop & Lounge is an ever-popular throwback classic and filming location from 1972.
