A short walk via enclosed tunnel from Keystone Lodge & Spa is Keystone Conference Center, enveloped in the beauty of the surrounding wilderness. The scenery is prominently displayed via several outdoor patios and floor-to-ceiling windows in various areas of the venue.
The center has 60,000 square feet of meeting, exhibit and event space. Along with the 40,000 square feet of meeting space resort-wide, it is the largest meetings option in the Colorado Rocky Mountains Highlights include two ballrooms, a circular boardroom with great views and an on-site kitchen that produces some of the state’s most delicious cuisine. The kitchen is home to the Colorado Mountain College Culinary Institute, and the resort’s executive pastry chef, Ned Archibald, is something of a legend. With his own “wing” at the conference center kitchen, he creates a chocolate village every Christmas season and some of the most interesting dessert creations for the conference center and dining outlets of the resort.
The conference center was the first location at Keystone to implement composting, and it’s impressive to note that it is almost a zero-waste facility.
A premier feature of the center is conference services managers that can arrange everything at the resort, including activities and teambuilding events, for groups meeting on-property. In addition to adventurous teambuilding options, Keystone also partners with CBST Adventures for community impact programs such as Trees, Trails and Trash, in which attendees help with environmental stewardship, and Bicycles Built for Need, an opportunity to construct bikes, compete in cycling races then donate the bikes to a local youth group. Customized programs can be arranged, such as initiatives for a local hospital, for example, for medical groups meeting at the resort.
Keystone Conference Center also organizes other memorable opportunities for groups. We were able to sit in on an address by Trace “the Ace” Worthington during a medical meeting at the property. Worthington is a world champion freestyle skier who has competed in two Olympic Games. He now lives in Park City, Utah, and is senior vice president of Huge Brands and an active partner in Flying Aces Productions.
