Upgrades & Openings: East (July 2015)

Massachusetts
Hyatt Boston Harbor recently wrapped a $10 million renovation to each of the hotel’s 270 guest rooms and suites. Located on the edge of Boston Harbor, the property is less than a mile from the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center and also offers more than 22,000 square feet of its own meeting space.

The Sheraton Commander Hotel, in Cambridge, completed a multimillion-dollar renovation, featuring significant upgrades to its guest rooms, club lounge and lobby. The 176 upgraded guest rooms include complimentary Wi-Fi. The hotel offers 5,000 square feet of meeting space across six conference and function rooms.

New Jersey
The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Paramus is being converted to a Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott International. The multimillion-dollar brand conversion is expected to be completed by February 2016. The new 109-room Fairfield Inn & Suites Paramus will feature an updated exterior and complimentary Wi-Fi.

New York
Sheraton JFK Airport Hotel completed a comprehensive renovation, as well as the expansion of its Sheraton Club Lounge. The hotel’s 150 upgraded guest rooms were refurbished as was its lobby, now featuring a new seating area. The property offers more than 2,300 square feet of meeting and event space.

The 125-suite Residence Inn The Bronx at Metro Center Atrium debuted in May and offers complimentary Wi-Fi, as well as functional public spaces to relax or collaborate. The hotel provides 1,500 square feet of meeting space, an exercise room and a bar in the lobby.

Saratoga Casino and Raceway recently broke ground on a $34 million hotel expansion project. Saratoga Casino expects to complete the 123,000-square-foot hotel project by Memorial Day 2016. Saratoga Springs is home to the Saratoga Springs City Center, which offers 12,000 square feet of meeting space and the adjoining 242-room Saratoga Hilton Hotel.

Pennsylvania
Red Lion Hotels Corporation in May converted the former Holiday Inn Hotel and Conference Center to the Red Lion Hotel Harrisburg East. The hotel has 274 guest rooms and 27,000 square feet of meeting space, including an indoor amphitheater that can accommodate 110 people. It has a restaurant, lounge, outdoor tennis, shuffleboard and basketball courts.

Washington, D.C.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Largo-Washington, D.C., recently opened following a complete transformation of the former Radisson Hotel. The property debuted a total redesign of the lobby, public and recreation areas, room upgrades, reconfigured meeting area, and revamped restaurant and bar concepts. The hotel offers 184 guest rooms and 2,500 square feet of meeting space.

The JW Marriott Washington, D.C. recently unveiled the multimillion-dollar redesign of its 750 guest rooms and executive lounge. The property features more than 37,000 square feet of renovated banquet and meeting space, including the 14,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom, 29 meeting rooms and a 7,000-square-foot terrace on the 12th floor, overlooking the capital.
