MEXICO CITY
W Mexico City recently completed extensive renovations to its 237 guest rooms and debuted the new Living Room Bar, located within the hotel’s lobby. The property started renovations last December.
New York studio Nemaworkshop designed the Living Room Bar, which features a “Masquerade” concept, inviting guests and clients to discover the different sides of the property. The bar’s signature cocktails include Ruby Red, Sugar Cotton, Gin Graffiti, Mezcalada, Blue Moon and Red Delux.
Music is also central to the Living Room Bar concept, which features a DJ Booth and VIP sections.
The second stage of the renovation started in June with the bedrooms. Different lighting scenarios and elements were incorporated into the rooms merging modern design with Mexican culture.
The guest rooms were restyled into categories that include Wonderful, Fabulous, Cool Corner Suite and Fantastic Suite. Each room style has its own unique feel, depending on guest needs. The hotel’s rooms also feature a photo series created by Mexican artist Iván Aguirre, depicting moments in the history of Mexico that include Azteca, Luchador, Conquistador, Diva and Adelita concepts.
Functional additions to guest rooms include:
- Jung lighting and air-conditioning system, which offers comfort and convenience, alongside flexible controls and an emphasis on saving energy.
- Soundproof walls that exceed the highest international standards for luxury hotels.
- European and occidental USB outlets.
- Jack Packs (Connectivity Panels) and extra-large desks for working comfortably.
The new W beds are made with goose down duvets and 350-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, and amenities such as cotton bathrobes and Bliss® bath products.
The 237-room W Mexico City features 7,700 square feet of meeting space across nine meeting rooms for up to 340 guests. The hotel is currently in the process of renovating all of its public areas.
