Grand Rapids

➤ The Hilton Grand Rapids Airport Hotel officially became the DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Rapids Airport Hotel at the end of March. Recent hotel renovations include updates to the lobby, on-site restaurant and its 226 guest rooms.

CityFlatsHotel Grand Rapids is in the process of adding event space, with a forecast completion by the end of this summer.

➤ The Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, which finished renovating 286 of its guest rooms last December, will become part of Curio, A Collection by Hilton next year, and will also add a new riverfront restaurant, The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, this fall.

lansing

➤ The 125-room Hyatt Place Lansing/Eastwood Towne Center opened in May with three meeting rooms.

➤ At press time, the 96-room Residence Inn by Marriott East Lansing, adjacent to the campus of Michigan State University, was on track to open this month. The property will have 500 square feet of meeting space.

➤ A 121-room Fairfield Inn & Suites is scheduled to open this fall.

Kalamazoo

Hampton Inn Kalamazoo, located adjacent to the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport, opened in January with 78 guest rooms and more than 1,000 square feet of meeting space.

Wings Event Center, previously Wings Stadium, is undergoing renovations that are scheduled for completion by October. The venue can accommodate a variety of events, expos and conferences.

McCamly Plaza Hotel is currently in the third phase of a multimillion-dollar renovation that includes updates of its 239 guest rooms, function space, lobby, restaurant and bar. The renovations are scheduled for completion by January.

Courtyard Battle Creek opened in fall 2014 with 1,200 square feet of meeting space.

holland

➤ A 140-room new Courtyard by Marriott is scheduled to open this November in the heart of downtown.

Muskegon County

➤ The Whitehall-based Michigan’s Heritage Park opened in June. The attraction offers visitors a fully interactive trip through 10,000 years of Michigan’s history.
