The Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) named Byung-Tae Kim as its new president and CEO June 29.
The fourth president since the organization’s founding in 2008, Kim is charged with fostering the South Korean capital’s MICE business, increasing visits to the city by foreign tourists and helping to strengthen Seoul’s competitive standing as a leading city on the global stage.
Before assuming his new role, Kim was the CEO of one of South Korea’s top travel management companies, BT&I. A travel industry veteran, Kim brings with him 20 years of experience promoting culture and travel, representing major organizations such as the classical music academy in Pung Wol Dang and acting as advisor to the Kim Chong Yung Sculpture Museum.
