Alaska
Millennium Hotels and Resorts recently completed the third and final phase of refurbishments at The Lakefront Anchorage, formerly Millennium Alaskan Hotel Anchorage. The last series of changes include a full remodel of all 248 guest rooms. In addition, The Lakefront’s entire conference space, featuring 6,000 square feet of meeting and event rooms, was also recently redone.
British Columbia
The 114-room Fairfield Inn & Suites Kamloops opened earlier this summer with an indoor swimming pool, exercise room, free Wi-Fi and 980 square feet of function space for up to 50 people.
California
Le Meridien San Francisco in June unveiled a $12 million renovation, including a transformation of its public spaces and all 360 guest rooms, of which 80 are suites. The property’s 12,500 square feet of meeting and event space has also been redone.
The Hilton San Diego Mission Valley Hotel recently completed a $12 million renovation. The latest renovations total more than a half-million dollars, including a new 5,000-square-foot outdoor event deck, landscape redesign and revamped meeting rooms. Prior to the latest renovations, the hotel completed a redesign of its 350 guest rooms.
Island Hotel Newport Beach recently completed an 18-month transformation, including upgrades to all 292 guest rooms and the new Oak Grill restaurant, with a 2,100-square-foot floor deck for al fresco dining. There is also an updated pool area with private cabanas. The hotel offers more than 23,000 square feet of event space.
The former Crowne Plaza Beverly Hills was recently converted to the 260-room Beverly Hills Marriott. The rebranding follows an extensive $26 million renovation of all guest rooms and public spaces. The expanded outdoor pool area includes a deck for receptions.
Moana Restaurant Group recently opened a new 50,000-square-foot destination for corporate meetings and private events in the San Ramon Valley. The Roundhouse Conference Center includes an auditorium for up to 300, two lecture halls, a convertible event room, six boardrooms, an atrium for up to 200 standing and an exterior waterfront patio plaza. In total, the interior conference rooms offer 27,000 square feet of space and the outside areas account for 23,000 square feet of function space.
Mexico
Thompson Hotels recently unveiled its first property in Mexico, The Cape, an upscale 161-room beachfront resort in Los Cabos. The property’s event spaces include the A-Frame boardroom, offering direct views to the Sea of Cortez; Glimpse, adjacent to The Roof Top lounge; and Look, with 360-views and space for up to 45. There is also a spa with private outdoor cabanas.
The 375-room Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort recently reopened, debuting Phase One renovations following a multimillion-dollar transformation. This month the resort unveils La Vista Club, a hotel-within-a-hotel concept with 65 rooms and suites. As part of Phase Two renovations, slated for completion in September, the resort will present its new 7,000-square-foot spa.
Nevada
The LINQ Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas recently completed a renovation, converting from the former Imperial Palace. The resort offers 2,253 renovated guest rooms, including 244 suites, two loft-style penthouses and 25 poolside cabana guest rooms. The new outdoor event venue, The Vortex, offers 20,000 square feet of space and an 18,000-square-foot ballroom.
