Beverly Hills
The Mosaic Hotel, located in the heart of Beverly Hills, relaunched in June following a multimillion-dollar renovation. The new interior design of the boutique 49-room property aims for a rich and welcoming feel. Guests are greeted by a classic doorman with a Bowler hat and a welcoming lobby complete with a medley of elegant furnishings and fabrics.
Long Beach
Hotel Maya debuted its new 6,400-square-foot Lagunita waterfront pavilion late last year. The venue is inspired by ancient Mayan temples, featuring a tall cathedral-style ceiling, five chandeliers and two floor-to-ceiling walls that look out over the Pacific. Lagunita can host 600 guests for standing receptions, 400 guests with a dance floor and seat guests up to 450 in rounds and 350 classroom-style. To enter Lagunita, guests pass through “Vista del Mar,” a 10,000-square-foot, prefunction outdoor area with a VIP entranceway lined with sky-high palms. Vista del Mar can host 700 guests for a standing reception and up to 350 guests in rounds; together, Lagunita and Vista del Mar can host more than 1,000 guests.
Redondo Beach
Pacifica Hotels opened The Redondo Beach Hotel in December, following a $13 million renovation of the former Sunrise Hotel property. The comprehensive renovation included brand-new guest rooms and meeting spaces, the addition of balconies on many guest rooms, a second-level outdoor lounge with vistas of the ocean and marina, an entirely remodeled lobby and an expansive portico. The property features 112 guest rooms and suites, and offers complimentary Wi-Fi. On-site amenities include a heated pool and spa and a fully equipped gym. With two new flexible meeting spaces that total 4,633 square feet, the property is an option for corporate functions, intimate weddings and other celebrations.
Santa Monica
Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel in June announced the appointment of Zach Dallessandro as executive chef. An experienced chef with seasoning at dining hot spots all over the U.S., Dallessandro now oversees all culinary operations and menu creation at the 347-room oceanfront property, including the signature restaurant Ocean & Vine, plus the Papillion Lounge, Beach Barn, poolside fare, in-room F&B and all banquet affairs.
