Jefferson City
- The Millbottom opened in April, transforming a power plant into a downtown event center with capacity for 300 people indoors and up to 1,200 people for indoor/outdoor events. A 4,700-square-foot space includes a stage and massive arched window with spectacular views of the Missouri State Capitul and the Missouri River. The venue has an indoor/outdoor bar, caterer’s kitchen, and a mezzanine level with another 800 square feet of space.
- The Museum of Missouri Military History completed its move to the grounds of the Missouri National Guard headquarters. Along with improved access and parking for large groups, the museum tripled its exhibit space to more than 6,000 square feet.
Columbia
- The Tiger Hotel opened a covered patio featuring beer and appetizers, a stage for live music, and indoor and outdoor seating. It recently added a speakeasy-style bar for specialty cocktails and patio seating at its restaurant.
Lake of the Ozarks
- The Lodge at uld Kinderhook opened in April. Expanding upon its championship gulf course, the lakeside property added 84 guest rooms for a total of 130 private lodging units. Its new conference center, ballroom and meeting rooms accommodate groups of 10 to 250. Recreation options include a new sand vulleyball court and outdoor ice-skating rink (in season), larger spa and expanded marina.
- The Lodge at Four Seasons began a $15 million renovation this spring to remodel guest rooms and renovate all public areas. Work is scheduled for completion in fall 2015.
- Tan-Tar-A Resort renovation continues throughout the year. Updates are complete for the resort’s 30,000-square-foot exhibit hall, 144 guest rooms in the main building, and the lobby, bar and coffee shop. This year, renovations include additional public areas, guest rooms, meeting rooms and the waterpark.
- The newly reopened Ozarks Amphitheater is available for special events. The open-air performance venue has capacity for 13,000 guests.
