PITTSBURGH
Opened in January, Hotel Monaco is a 248-room conversion of a 1903 building in downtown Pittsburgh. The Kimpton boutique includes 13 suites, and offers 11,300 square feet of flexible event space, including a banquet hall and 2,337-square-foot ballroom.

Accepting reservations starting end of September, the new Hotel Indigo Pittsburgh East End offers 135 guest rooms and 2,240 square feet of meeting space.

Construction on a new 229-suite Embassy Suites hotel, located on the top 11 floors of the 24-story Henry W. Oliver Building in downtown Pittsburgh, is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2016. The hotel will include conference and banquet facilities, plus restaurant, lounge, fitness center and pool.

BUTLER COUNTY
Slated to open last month, the new 185,000-square-foot UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township combines a sports medicine center with a new training facility for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Two full-size hockey rinks with 1,500 total seats are available for rental when not in use by the team.

LAUREL HIGHLANDS
The 318-room Nemacolin Woodlands Resort completed its largest-ever renovation this spring. The property-wide $30 million transformation included floor-to-ceiling upgrades of the 32,000-square-foot Executive Conference Center, 4,080-square-foot grand ballroom and 200-seat lecture hall. Six breakaway meeting rooms were also upgraded along with adjoining outdoor spaces including gardens and patios.

Targeting a fall 2015 opening, a new 119-room Hilton Garden Inn at the Fayette County Business Park near Uniontown will offer meeting rooms along with restaurant, cocktail lounge and indoor pool.

INDIANA COUNTY
In April 2015, plans were announced for a Hilton Garden Inn to be built adjacent to Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex. Projected to open in summer 2016, the upscale hotel will offer 128 guest rooms and suites and 3,000 square feet of meeting space.

ERIE
Offering seven meeting rooms and 5,800 square feet of flexible space, the Sheraton Erie Bayfront, connected via skywalk to the Erie Bayfront Convention Center, recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation including all 200 guest rooms, meeting space, lobby and fitness center.

Targeting a spring 2016 opening, the new Courtyard by Marriott Bayfront Hotel will offer 192 guest rooms, including a number of suites facing Presque Isle Bay, and three meeting rooms.
