Charleston
➤ The Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina is on track to open in September in Mount Pleasant with 92 guest rooms, on-site dining and meeting facilities.
➤ Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston is scheduled to open by the end of this year with 50 guest rooms, meeting space and a rooftop restaurant.
Hilton Head
➤ The Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort completed the last phase of a multimillion-dollar renovation project in March, including updates to the resort’s lobby, meeting spaces and 323 guest rooms.
➤ The Bluffton, S.C.-based Inn at Palmetto Bluff recently began a multimillion-dollar expansion project to include the construction of a 150-room hotel, a spa and fitness center, enhanced meeting space and additional dining options.
➤ A not-yet-named Hilton Grand Vacations seven-acre oceanfront property featuring two six-story buildings with a total of 125 two-bedroom units is scheduled to open on Hilton Head Island by next summer.
Myrtle Beach
➤ Myrtle Beach International Airport is on track to open up two additional gates in late 2015.
➤ The Myrtle Beach Sports Center, featuring 2,000 seats, eight basketball courts, 16 volleyball courts, a cafe and a retail area, opened earlier this year adjacent to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
➤ The new Homewood Suites Oceanfront Resort & Conference Center, which will share pools and other amenities with the Hampton Inn Oceanfront next door, is scheduled to open next year with 100 suites, a 300-seat conference center and a fitness center.
Columbia
➤ The 130-room Hyatt Columbia/Downtown/The Vista, which is situated one block from the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, opened in March with two meeting rooms.
➤ The University of South Carolina Alumni Center opened this summer with 13 meeting rooms.
➤ An Aloft hotel with 107 guest rooms and a boardroom is scheduled to open in fall 2016.
Greenville
➤ An Embassy Suites hotel is planned for downtown and will have 156 guest rooms and 7,000 square feet of meeting space when it opens in 2017.
Rock Hill/York County
➤ The Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Mill opened in June with 102 guest rooms, 1,400 square feet of meeting space, an outdoor pool and a fitness room.
Spartanburg
➤ An AC by Marriott property is on track to open downtown in 2017 with 114 guest rooms, a rooftop bar, 2,000 square feet of meeting space and an on-site restaurant.
➤ A new 104-room Residence Inn by Marriott hotel is scheduled to open in spring 2016.
