Arizona
The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch, A Destination Hotel, formerly Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center, reopened. The $10 million renovation included two new restaurants and a bar, the expansion of outdoor meeting and event space, and the redesign of all 326 guest rooms and its pool. The property upgraded and expanded its outdoor meeting space and now has two lawns for events, with one that can accommodate up to 1,200 people. The total meeting space is now more than 80,000 square feet and includes 50 meeting rooms.

British Columbia
The 181-room DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Victoria is open and is the brand’s first property on Vancouver Island. The renovated and redesigned downtown property is located across from the 82,000-square-foot Victoria Conference Center and near Victoria’s Inner Harbour. There are some meeting space options available now, but the complete 13,000 square feet is scheduled to open in 2016.

California
Graton Resort & Casino, which is already the Bay Area’s largest casino, broke ground on a $175 million expansion that will add a 200-room resort with a spa, pool area and 20,000-square-foot convention and meeting space. The new space will include seven meeting rooms, prefunction areas and breakout meeting rooms. The six-story hotel will connect to the existing casino, 8,700-square-foot event center and a dozen restaurants and bars.

Colorado
The Westin Denver International Airport is set to open in mid-November with 519 guest rooms and 37,500 square feet of meeting space. The hotel is part of the new Hotel and Transit Center at Denver International Airport, which includes rail service to downtown and an outdoor plaza. This new property will feature SuperFoodsRx and Westin Fresh by the Juicery, both part of the brand’s Eat Well program.

Nevada
Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino debuted the convention center’s 350,000-square-foot expansion, including a 20,000-square-foot foyer and underground parking. Construction on the convention center began in October 2014, and when complete in January 2016 will offer more than 2 million total square feet and over 900,000 square feet of exhibit space. Part of the final renovation will include transitioning existing space into a 70,000-square-foot carpeted ballroom, as well as remodeling 3,000 guest rooms in the hotel.

The 256-all-suite Residence Inn Las Vegas Hughes Center completed renovations. The suites all feature fully equipped kitchens and separate spaces for sleep and work. Upgrades include new carpet, furniture, kitchen appliances, countertops and bathrooms. The hotel, which is near the University of Las Vegas, Nevada and five minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, has 1,500 square feet of meeting space.
