Launched in early October, Boda Borg is a new reality gaming experience located in Boston, and is a great match for teambuilding and corporate groups.
“Boda Borg works for any size group, from three to over 200,” explains Chad Ellis, CEO of Boda Borg Boston. “A new project team can bond and learn about each other in a two-hour outing, a larger group can hold a strategy meeting and use Questing to refresh and reinvigorate, or a corporation can hold a major celebration or year-end review.”
This Swedish born series of live-action quests are both mental and physical, and require your team of three to five to work together to get to the next level. If your team fails the challenge, you must go back to the beginning of that Quest, or go to a different Quest and try that one. Each level is equipped with high-tech features, like lasers and heat and motions sensors. Quests are a series of challenges that are all different themes, such as Spider, Rats, Escape from Alcatraz, Platoon and 12 others.
Using your mind and body, the game teaches you how to fail—and even fail some more—before you succeed at a Quest. The team behind Boda Borg believes that discovery is part of the experience, and while figuring out what to do can be easy, achieving it is the hard part.
“Too many outings make companies choose between fun and teambuilding,” Ellis says. “Boda Borg is an incredibly fun activity that builds teamwork organically because to solve our Quests each team has to experiment, collaborate and solve unfamiliar problems—and fail often!”
