Egypt
The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo debuted with 331 rooms and features an Olympic-sized pool and multiple dining options. The historic property, which was rebranded as a Ritz-Carlton, has hosted Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra and Nelson Rockefeller. The newly built Al Qahira ballroom, the largest in downtown Cairo features nearly 18,300 square feet and can accommodate up to 1,400. In addition, there is the Alf Leila Wa Leila ballroom and six meeting rooms.

India
The 105-room InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort opened recently. The hotel features three dining options, including The Melting Pot with three live kitchens serving European, South Asian and Peninsular Indian cuisine, as well as Chinese Restaurant Tao Of Peng & Lounge Bar. The property has about 3,400 square feet of meeting, conference and event space with three meeting rooms and outdoor and indoor venues.

Japan
The Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Osaka Station opened and is the third property for the brand in Japan. Located next to the Shin-Osaka Bullet Train Station, a hub in western Japan, the 332-room hotel has easy access to the Kansai region’s attractions, such as Universal Studios Japan and the cities of Kyoto and Kobe. The on-site LAVAROCK Dining & Bar offer all-day dining and Ikka-Ichiyo, a JapaneseTeppanyaki-style restaurant, is open for lunch and dinner. The property offers three meeting rooms totaling over 2,200 square feet and can accommodate up to 50.

Netherlands
W Hotels Worldwide announced the opening of W Amsterdam. The hotel has 238 rooms over two buildings, one of which was the former site of the Telephone Exchange and the other previously home to KAS Bank. The Exchange Building has 172 rooms; the 66 rooms in the Bank will open early next year. The property has a rooftop W Lounge with four outdoor terraces and WET DECK, Amsterdam’s first rooftop pool. The hotel features about 4,500 square feet of meeting space, including a Great Room that can be divided into three smaller spaces.

Poland
DoubleTree by Hilton Krakow Hotel & Convention Center debuted with 232 rooms, including 30 executive rooms and an Executive Lounge, as well as the largest Presidential Suite in the city. The hotel has 32,300 square feet of meeting space. The 9,936-square-foot Krakow Ballroom can accommodate 1,200 theater-style and there are an additional 16 meeting rooms. The property opening completes Hilton Worldwide’s only dual-branded property in Poland, joining Hampton by Hilton Krakow, which opened in May.

United Kingdom
The 121-room DoubleTree by Hilton at the Ricoh Arena–Coventry opened in the Ricoh Arena, home of Premiership Rugby Club Wasps and Coventry City Football Club. Coventry is located in the center of England, and the hotel is near the Birmingham Airport and three train stations. The Ricoh Arena features over 215,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including an almost 65,000-square-foot conference and exhibit hall, and can accommodate up to 7,000 people.
