Akihiro Nomura

The Kitano Hotel New York appointed Akihiro Nomura as deputy general manager. Bringing more than 25 years of hotel management experience to this role, Nomura supervises front office guest services and also directs the Japan-focused sales and marketing initiatives for the hotel.

Nomura is responsible for the rooms division and day-to-day operations. He also oversees all business for Japanese markets as the dedicated liaison between Japanese clients and the sales team. In this role, Nomura leads operations management for all Japanese diplomacy and business groups, ensuring that special requests are executed properly and efficiently.

Nomura received his technical hospitality education at the Tokyo YMCA International Hotel School. His management career grew at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo where he held multiple managerial positions over his 18-year tenure. Beginning in the accounting department, Nomura followed his passion for guest service in the rooms division and front office departments, rising through the ranks to become business development manager. In 2009, he took part in a major renovation project for Hawaii’s Hotel Halekulani, leading the international sales team as overseas reservations manager.
