Arizona
Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa will debut in mid-2016 with 201 bungalow-style guest rooms. Located in the town of Paradise Valley, the property boasts views of Camelback Mountain. Collaborating with local artists, musicians and designers, the hotel is creating programs for guests that are unique to the Sonoran Desert. The hotel will offer more than 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event facilities. 

California
Chaminade Resort & Spa is undergoing a remodel of its 156-rooms and public spaces that is scheduled to be complete by the end of January. The Mission-style property will feature a more modern, eclectic and bohemian style reflecting Santa Cruz’s artisan community as well as the city’s railroad industry. For those who practice meditation while traveling, a new addition is tranquil meditation alcoves in some rooms with cushions by windows for natural light and outdoor views. The property features 12,000 square feet of IACC-approved and IACC Green Star-certified conference space, including 12 meeting rooms and a 2,600-square-foot ballroom. 

Pier 2620 Hotel completed a $17 million renovation. The former San Francisco Hilton Fisherman’s Wharf, now operated and managed by Fillmore Hospitality, revamped all of its 233 guest rooms, with an exterior renovation is set for 2016. Its 3,000 square feet of indoor meeting space includes the 1,450-square-foot Sonoma Ballroom, which can be divided into two, and there is also an open-air, 5,000-square-foot courtyard. 

The new UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center is scheduled to open in August on the University of California Los Angeles campus. The venue will offer 254 guest rooms, 25,000 square feet of meeting space and an art collection that includes many original works from artists affiliated with UCLA. The center will feature floor-to-ceiling windows in nearly all 29 meeting rooms, and the multipurpose conference hall can seat up to 750. The space includes a tiered classroom with fixed seating for 80, along with a staffed business center. 

Colorado
Silverwest Hotels acquired The Inverness Hotel and Conference Center, in Englewood. The 302-room hotel will undergo property-wide renovations throughout 2016. The property has an 18-hole golf course and both indoor and outdoor pools. The 60,000 square feet of IACC-accredited meeting space includes 43 meeting rooms and two auditoriums. The 5,400-square-foot ballroom has a capacity for 660. 

Nevada
Starwood Hotels & Resorts announced the signing of SLS Las Vegas. The property consists of three hotel towers, which total more than 1,600 guest rooms. The 289-room “LUX Tower” will be converted to a W Hotel after renovations in 2016. The W Las Vegas conversion will include the about 14,500 square feet of new meeting and event space. The other two hotel towers’ 1,324 rooms will be operated under the recently launched Tribute Portfolio brand and renamed SLS Las Vegas, a Tribute Portfolio Resort. Overall, the property offers 80,000 square feet of meeting space, which includes a 9,000-square-foot ballroom.
