Massachusetts
Element Boston Seaport opened in January and Aloft Boston Seaport is scheduled to open in early February. The dual-branded development is located across from the convention center. The 180-room Element Hotel is designed for the extended stay traveler and plans to be one of the most energy-efficient hotels in Boston. The Aloft will have 330 guest rooms and 10,000 square feet of meeting space. The on-site W XYZ bar and lounge will host local musicians as part of its weekly “LIVE! At Aloft” series.

New York
Saratoga Casino and Raceway announced that Morton’s The Steakhouse will operate the feature restaurant inside the casino’s $40 million hotel expansion, both scheduled to open in the summer of 2016. The new 117-room hotel will include an indoor resort pool, outdoor terrace and 3,200 square feet of meeting space. The 6,500 square-foot restaurant will feature a private dining space for parties of up to 35. The property has 12,000 square feet of existing meeting space at the entertainment venue Vapor, as well as Fortunes, the trackside restaurant that can accommodate 350, and The Lodge, a private event center with an outdoor tent.

The Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel is scheduled to open in the spring 2016. Located in the garment district, the 348-room hotel will incorporate the brand’s new global design “Wanderlust” theme featuring a “living” wall, a digital display projected along the corridor that responds to human motion through movements and graphic patterns that will interact with guests. The property will also have a four-story LED screen illuminating the skyline with a digital clock. The hotel will offer 4,500 square feet of meeting space that can accommodate up to 250 attendees. There is also an 8,000-square-foot terrace with a retractable room, private cabanas and two bars.

 

Pennsylvania
The Logan Philadelphia joined Hilton’s Curio’s brand and was renamed The Logan Philadelphia, Curio Collection by Hilton. The 391-room hotel is home to Urban Farmer Philadelphia restaurant, The Commons Lounge in the lobby and Assembly, a rooftop lounge that will open in the spring. The property features 12,700 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space that includes a ballroom that can accommodate 500. There are 12 meeting rooms that include rooftop venues and boardrooms.

Washington, D.C.
The 168-room Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Washington, D.C.-Navy Yard opened with the Top of the Yard, a rooftop lounge with views of the city, Anacostia Riverwalk and Nationals Park. The hotel also features the brand’s “The Perfect Mix Lobby,” which is designed as a room extension with different seating and lounge areas. There is 2,000 square feet of meeting space that can accommodate 120 guests.

Canada
The Renaissance Montreal is scheduled to open in mid-January downtown. The 142-room hotel will be home to the restaurant East, serving pan Asian cuisine. There are three meeting spaces that total 1,800 square feet as well as a rooftop plunge pool, outdoor bistro and terrace. The terrace space, which has views of the city’s skyline, can be used for private events in the warmer months.
