Cleveland

Cleveland’s newest district is the Flats East Bank, which features multiple restaurants, numerous entertainment venues and a boardwalk along the Cuyahoga River. Big Bang is an energetic dueling piano bar while the all-encompassing Punch Bowl Social, which opened last fall, offers groups everything from multiple karaoke rooms to eight bowling lanes to vintage video games and more. Phase III of the project will add retail and a movie theater to the restaurant and nightlife scene.

Akron

The Hilton Garden Inn Akron opened in December 2014 with 139 rooms and 4,500 square feet of flexible event space.

The 146-room Courtyard Akron Downtown is slated to open this month with 2,708 square feet of meeting space. Within the meeting space is also a movie theater, and the hotel will also offer a bistro, speakeasy, business center, fitness center and pool.

Toledo

Three historic properties are under renovation in Toledo’s Warehouse District. Located next to the Fifth Third Field, home of the Toledo Mud Hens, the new development, called Hensville, will feature new party and banquet spaces, a new restaurant, new rooftop baseball viewing areas and an expanded Swamp Shop.

The Grand Plaza Hotel in downtown Toledo is under new ownership. Illinois-based First Hospitality Group plans to reopen the hotel under the Renaissance by Marriott flag. The hotel will have a new ground-level restaurant and rooftop bar, and renovations are slated for completion by the end of the year.

Bowling Green

An 84-suite Home2 Suites by Hilton is slated to open by the end of the year. The extended-stay facility will offer kitchenettes, a business center, indoor pool and gym.

A 101-room Fairfield Inn by Marriott is also slated to open by the end of 2016, and will feature meeting space and a pool.
