Arlington
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Washington DC-Crystal City completed a renovation of all guest rooms in April 2015 and at press time was expected to complete a renovation of its Windows over Washington meeting space in February 2016. The Windows over Washington collection, totaling more than 7,200 square feet of meeting space, features three rooms with skyline views of the nation’s capital.
The new Hyatt Place Hotel in Arlington’s Courthouse area is expected to open in mid-2016 with 168 guest rooms.
Alexandria
Hilton Alexandria Old Town completed a renovation in May 2015, including the addition of a new 1,300-square-foot meeting room and updates to existing meeting space, 252 guest rooms, the ballroom, restaurant, lobby bar and front desk.
Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco Alexandria completed a major redesign in April 2015, including updates to all 241 guest rooms and suites, hallways and the living room-style lobby.
Kimpton Morrison House is currently undergoing enhancements to all 45 guest rooms and public spaces, and the addition of a new 985-square-foot ballroom. The property is slated to reopen in April.
Fairfax
Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner Center, which sits adjacent to Tysons Corner Center, a shopping destination, opened in April 2015 with 300 guest rooms and over 15,000 square feet of meeting space.
The recently opened Convene at Tysons Corner features six meeting rooms, a lounge and can accommodate up to 200 people.
At press time, the National Museum of the United States Army has a tentative breaking-ground date of this April, with an anticipated opening of late 2019/early 2020. The museum will have some meeting space.
At press time, Crowne Plaza Dulles was undergoing a renovation scheduled for completion in early 2016, including updates to the hotel’s guest rooms/suites, lobby and guest corridors.
Fairfax Marriott at Fair Oaks recently completed a renovation including updates to guest rooms, public spaces and meeting space.
As of December 2015, Hyatt Fairfax at Fair Lakes rebranded to Hyatt Regency Fairfax at Fair Lakes. The hotel recently renovated its meeting space, including the 4,000-square-foot ballroom.
Falls Church Marriott Fairview Park completed a guest room renovation in fall 2015.
Fredericksburg
A 95-room Best Western is scheduled for completion by early spring 2016. The hotel will also have 16 suites and three meetings rooms.
Courtyard Fredericksburg Historic District will undergo a renovation in 2016 of the entire hotel to include all public spaces, meeting rooms and guest rooms.
At press time, Hilton Garden Inn Fredericksburg was renovating all guest rooms, public spaces and meeting spaces to be completed in January 2016.
The 99-room Wingate by Wyndham Stafford/Quantico is being converted to a Holiday Inn Express in April 2016.
