ALBANY
Set to debut in early 2017, the $66.5 million Albany Capital Center gives Albany versatile new hosting space for up to 5,000 delegates. Directly connected to the Empire State Plaza Convention Center, Egg Performing Arts Center and Times Union Center arena, the venue will offer 22,500 square feet of ballroom/exhibit space, six meeting rooms and 13,500 square feet of prefunction space. The completed project creates the Capital Complex, Upstate New York’s largest meeting facility offering more than 159,000 square feet of space.
The 17,000-seat Times Union Center is undergoing a $15.7 million renovation to enclose its atrium and add 2,800 square feet of meeting space, scheduled for completion in early 2017.
Following a $48 million renovation, the historic DeWitt Clinton hotel reopened as the 204-room Renaissance Albany in October 2015. Offering 8,505 square feet of space in six event rooms, the upscale property also connects to the Albany Capital Center.
SARATOGA SPRINGS
Accepting bookings for summer 2016, the new $40 million Saratoga Casino Hotel at Saratoga Casino and Raceway offers 117 rooms and 3,000-plus square feet of space, plus a 160-seat Morton's The Steakhouse, with private dining for 32.
BUFFALO
Featuring 12,000 square feet of versatile space, Millennium Buffalo, just a short drive from Niagara Falls, has completed a multimillion-dollar transformation of all 301 guest rooms and suites.
SYRACUSE
Rescued from its post-heyday decline with a sweeping $70 million restoration, Hotel Syracuse, from 1924, is being relaunched as Marriott Syracuse Downtown. Slated to reopen in June, the property will feature 261 guest rooms and 18 suites, plus 43,000 square feet of flexible space. Highlights include three ballrooms and conference center with eight IACC-certified meeting rooms. The property becomes the official hotel for the Onondaga County Convention Center.
