Colorado’s Top Walking Tours for Groups

When in Colorado, attendees should do as Coloradoans do and get outside for a stroll.

From walking tours that take in the area’s beautiful scenery to those with intriguing themes meant to inform groups about their host destination, there is a great number and variety of options throughout the state from which to choose.

Following is a brief list of favorite tours throughout the state.

  • In Denver, Culinary Connectors offers the Savor the Flavor Tour, which includes four stops for tastings at local restaurants and ends at a local happy hour.
  • In Boulder, which is on the front burner among culinary trendsetters nationwide, groups can call on Local Table Tours to lead a walking excursion covering everything from Coffee & Chocolate to Farmers’ Market to Cocktail tours.
  • Aspen Walking Tours offers various options as well, including DarkSide, during which groups will learn about the popular mountain town’s ghosts, murder and mayhem.
  • A wintertime snowshoe tour in Snowmass, lead by a knowledgeable naturalist, will have groups exploring area forests and learning about the animals who call the Rocky Mountains home. The tour includes snowshoes, gondola ride, snack and a warm drink.
  • Telluride offers a historic walking tour featuring fun facts about the town dating back to the late-1800s. Sights along the way include the old red light district, called Popcorn Alley, and the circa-1891 New Sheridan Hotel, Telluride’s first hotel.
  • Groups convening in Colorado Springs should step into a naturalist-led walk inside Garden of the Gods Park daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., during which they’ll learn about area wildflowers, rattlesnakes and more.
  • And the Mountain Top Trek in Keystone begins with a scenic gondola ride to the top of Dercum Mountain, followed by a hike that surrounds attendees with glorious views.
