The 289-room DoubleTree by Hilton Golf Resort Palm Springs opened early 2016 and includes a 27-hole golf course, tennis courts and full-service spa. Formerly the Desert Princess Palm Springs Golf Resort, the property completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of the lobby, guest rooms, meeting rooms and restaurants and an addition of a new bar. The hotel offers 23,000 square feet of meeting space including 12 meeting rooms and two ballrooms. The 7,400-square-foot Mesquite Ballroom can accommodate 1,200 guests for a reception.
Virgin Hotels announced plans to open a new hotel, Virgin Hotels Palm Springs. Expected to open in 2018, the property will be located in downtown and feature 150 guest rooms, multiple food and beverage outlets, including the brand’s flagship space, The Commons, a rooftop terrace and pool that overlook the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains as well as numerous meeting spaces.
The 150-room Andaz Palm Springs is slated to open in 2017 in downtown Palm Springs adjacent to the Uptown Design District and within walking distance to shops, restaurants and galleries on Palm Canyon Drive as well as to the convention center. The property will feature a collection of small buildings and guest room bungalows surrounding two outdoor pools and garden areas on an elevated patio terrace, offering views of the San Jacinto Mountains and city. The first level of the Palm Springs hotel site will include boutique retail space and 5,000 square feet of indoor meeting facilities with private outdoor terraces.
A new $420 million project proposed for the City of La Quinta at SilverRock Resort will include a 140-room hotel and spa and a 200-room lifestyle hotel. Also in the works is a 150,000-square-foot resort village, with residential units and up to 40,000 square feet of retail space and recreation areas. The project, slated to break ground this year, also includes a mini riverfront promenade, a conference center with ballroom and meeting space and recreation areas.
