Upgrades & Openings: MidAmerica (March 2016)

Indiana
Florence’s Belterra Casino Resort announced the completion of a total renovation of its over 55,000 square feet of meeting and convention space. Upgrades include all-new carpeting, wall fixtures and sconces along with new seating. The recent upgrades are part of a three-year project that included renovations to all of the hotel’s guest rooms, three new restaurants, common areas and cosmetic updates on the casino floor.

Michigan
Detroit’s Cobo Center at press time was near the completion of a renovation and transformation of its old arena. The facility’s 45,000 square feet of outdoor space, including the terrace, now called Cobo Square, will debut this spring. Cobo Center offers more than 200,000 square feet of meeting space across 100 rooms.

Minnesota
The InterContinental Saint Paul Riverfront hotel opened. The renovation of the historic property features mid-century modern design in all 410 guest rooms and public spaces. There is 43,000 square feet of meeting space, including 10 meeting rooms, a boardroom and two grand ballrooms. The nearly 14,500-square-foot Great River Ballroom can host up to 1,000.

Ohio
The Schofield Hotel is scheduled to open in March following an extensive renovation of the Victorian-era Schofield Building. The Kimpton Hotels & Resorts property, located in downtown Cleveland, will have 122 guest rooms. The hotel offers 3,800 square feet of meeting space as well as a restaurant and bar, Parker’s Downtown, which can seat 120 and features two private dining rooms.

Wisconsin
Formerly known as Hyatt on Main, the hotel announced the completion of its rebranding to Hyatt Regency Green Bay.  The 240-room hotel is located adjacent to, and services, the 80,000-square-foot KI Convention Center. At the hotel, the 43,000 square feet of meeting space includes a new 9,600-square-foor ballroom that can accommodate 1,000 and seven meeting rooms.
