Adventures on the Gorge, a southern West Virginia adventure resort, has begun construction of a dedicated meeting venue. The resort, known for its outdoor adventures like whitewater rafting, rock climbing and ziplining, is located in the National Parks of Southern West Virginia.
“As an adventure resort we are not your traditional hotel or conference center,” says Dave Hartvigsen, CEO of Adventures on the Gorge. “Groups will only need to walk out the door and their adventure will begin. We are in the business of adventure here at Adventures on the Gorge, and groups will find an array of experiences to help build team camaraderie and just plain burn off steam after the hard work.”
The new venue will maximize views and emphasize a casual, customizable experience and sustainable operations. The facility will connect about 2,000 square feet of meeting space to the existing 3,000 square feet of multiuse space in the on-site restaurant Smokey’s on the Gorge. The space will include five meeting rooms with flexible designed to accommodate up to 200.
