New Orleans
Construction has begun on a new terminal at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, set to debut in 2018.
At press time, the 234-room Ace Hotel New Orleans was on track to open last month.
The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is embarking on the Convention Center District Development Project, which calls for construction of a new headquarters hotel, a park along Convention Center Boulevard, outdoor entertainment, arts and cultural venues. Changes are expected to occur in time for the city’s 300th anniversary in 2018.
Baton Rouge
Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center recently finished a renovation.
The Crowne Plaza Executive Center Baton Rouge recently underwent a renovation including updates to the hotel lobby, ballroom atrium, breakout meeting rooms and the executive level guest rooms.
Lake Charles
The Golden Nugget Lake Charles is adding a 300-room hotel tower to the resort by the end of this year, bringing the resort’s room count to 1,040.
Lafayette
The 327-room DoubleTree by Hilton Lafayette, formerly the Hilton Lafayette, opened in May 2015 after completing a transformation project including updated guest rooms.
