Eastern and Southeastern Connecticut

Uncasville-based Mohegan Sun is building a new 400-room hotel tower scheduled to open in fall 2016. It will feature an indoor pool, fitness center and meeting space.

In May 2015, Mashantucket-based Foxwoods Resort Casino opened Tanger Outlets, an 80-store shopping center.

In October 2015, the 189-room Mystic Hilton  completed a full renovation, including updates to guestrooms and meeting space, and the addition of a new bar, lobby and restaurant. The hotel is across the street from Mystic Aquarium and less than two miles from Mystic Seaport.

Greater Hartford

The 170-room Hard Rock Hartford Hotel  is on track to open in 2018 near the new Dunkin Donuts Park, which will be the home of Hartford Yard Goats minor league baseball when it opens in spring 2016.

Marriott Hartford Downtown, connected to the Connecticut Convention Center, is undergoing a major renovation. At press time, meeting rooms were complete and overnight room upgrades were underway.

Delamar West Hartford  will feature 111 guest rooms and meeting space when it opens sometime between December 2016 and June 2017.  

In September 2015, the Hartford-based Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, which is located a block from the Connecticut Convention Center, had its grand reopening after a five-year renovation.  

Glastonbury Boathouse, overlooking the Connecticut River, opened in spring 2015 with a banquet hall and observation deck. Clients reserving the boathouse gain access to surrounding parks and playing fields for teambuilding activities, breakout sessions and organized boat rides down the river.

A new year-round pavilion opened at Hartford’s Bushnell Park Carousel  in December 2015.

The recently reflagged Best Western Hartford Hotel & Suites, formerly a Holiday Inn Express, has 943 square feet of meeting space.

The former Crowne Plaza Cromwell is now the Radisson Hotel Cromwell

Fairfield County

The newly renovated Hotel Hi Ho in Fairfield held a ribbon cutting in November 2015. The 40-room property has been completely redone into a boutique-style hotel.  

 Stamford-based Chelsea Piers Connecticut, a 400,000-square-foot sports-oriented facility available for tradeshows and teambuilding, opened The Loft, a 4,000-square-foot dedicated reception space that accommodates up to 250 people.

Greater New Haven

Hilton Garden Inn Wallingford/Meriden opened in July 2015 with 139 guestrooms and 4,000 square feet of meeting space.

The IT Adventure Indoor Ropes Course at the new Jordan’s Furniture location, which opened December 2015 on New Haven’s Long Wharf, features two 60-foot-high ropes courses and over 100 activities.

College Street Music Hall opened in May 2015 in New Haven’s former Palace Theater.
