The W Minneapolis-the Foshay, named after Wilbur Foshay, who developed Minnesota’s first skyscraper, the Foshay Tower, has a new group package, “Live Like Foshay.”
The 229-room hotel, which occupies this original 1920s building that was modeled after the Washington Monument, features a mix of the Roaring 20s design and a modern feel and amenities. There is an on-site museum showcasing historical artifacts and a speakeasy bar, Prohibition, on the 27th floor that was designed to be Foshay’s private pied-à-terre.
Inspired by the hotel’s history and developer, the property launched the “Live Like Foshay” package for groups. Foshay was an infamous figure in Minneapolis, known for throwing lavish, over-the-top parties.
The package includes a full buyout of the hotel’s 26th, 27th and 28th floors, with a range of suite types that can accommodate up to 14 people each. It also includes a private party at Prohibition for up to 75 guests.
The hotel offers 6,700 square feet of event and meeting space that includes eight rooms and the 3,000-square-foot Great Room that can accommodate over 300 guests.
