Chaplin's World Museum Opens

Dedicated to the most iconic silent-film actor and his work, Chaplin’s World Museum opened in Lausanne, Switzerland. Located at the Manoir De Ban estate where Chaplin spent the last 25 years of his life, the museum showcases his private life and public persona.

“Our whole region is delighted to be opening the Chaplin’s World Museum, which is an excellent new addition to our collection of cultural attractions,” says Olivier Mathieu, congress and meetings manager at Lausanne TCB.

The venue includes the home where Chaplin lived with his wife, featuring furnishings and personal belongings, and visitors can tour the rooms of the manor to get an insight on the Chaplins’ lives. The studio, modeled after a Hollywood-style studio, gives guests the chance to take a look into the adventures of The Tramp, Chaplin’s most memorable character.

The estate is on 10 acres and the park offers views of Lake Geneva and the Alps. Groups can host a variety of events on-property. The museum and grounds can accommodate up to 150 for conferences, meetings or a sit-down dinner, and 200 for receptions.
