Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort completed $35 million in resort-wide improvements for the 2015/2016 ski season. Upgrades included a new 3,800-square-foot meeting room in the Cliff Lodge, a complete remodel of 350 guest rooms in the Cliff Lodge, expanded snowmaking capabilities, and a new smartcard ski ticketing system. All told, Snowbird offers more than 50,000 square feet of meeting facilities. Amenities at the resort village include more than two dozen restaurants, a full complement of winter and summer activities, and a large, group-friendly spa.

In fall 2016, the new Eccles Theater will begin bringing nationally touring Broadway shows and concerts to Salt Lake. The 2,500-seat theater, outfitted with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, will be located in downtown Salt Lake. The ultramodern venue will feature a six-story lobby, retractable walls and outdoor terraces.

Ground will soon be broken for the 190-room Regent Street Hotel. The mixed-use project, estimated to cost nearly $100 million, will be located north of Gallivan Plaza. The boutique property is slated to open in spring 2018.

Park City
The high-tech DeJoria Center opened at High Star Ranch in Kamas, 20 minutes from Park City. The 28,810-square-foot facility provides cutting-edge lighting and sound for tradeshows, corporate events and live performances. High Star also offers a 1,232-square-foot dance barn and three acres of outdoor lawn space for events.

Westgate Park City Resort & Spa will complete a 4,000-square-foot expansion in summer 2016. The expansion, designed as high-end banquet space, brings the property’s total event space to 10,000 square feet. Westgate boasts lodging for 488 in a variety of suites and villas. In 2015, Westgate was awarded AAA Four Diamond status for the first time. Amenities include three heated pools and several award-winning spas. 

Hotel Park City recently joined the Autograph Collection by Marriott. The AAA Four Diamond property offers 20,000 square feet of event space and 100 luxury suites, each with a fireplace. The hotel's top-rated Ruth’s Chris Steak House can host group dinners for 80 in its private Wasatch Room.

The former Hyatt Escala has been reflagged as the Hyatt Centric Park City. Located at the base of Canyons Village, the property offers 10,000 square feet of indoor event space.

Hyatt Place Park City opened recently along North Highway 224. The 122-room property offers 1,450 square feet of meeting space.

High West Distillery opened a new distillery at Blue Sky Ranch in nearby Wanship in September 2015. Group tours and tastings are available. High West also launched Nelson Cottage in Park City in January as an intimate venue for private tastings and whiskey pairing dinners for 25 to 30.
