The Greater Madison CVB (GMCVB) announced the hiring of Murray Ryan as the new vice president of sales.
“We are extraordinarily pleased to bring Murray Ryan on board to lead our convention sales team,” said Deb Archer, president and CEO of the GMCVB. “He brings exceptional experience, a proven track record and excellent management skills to our organization and market,” she added.
Ryan brings with him extensive experience, most recently as the director of sales for the U.S. Association Team for the Tourism Toronto/Toronto Convention and Visitors Association. Previous to his most recent role, Ryan spent over 28 years in the hotel industry in various roles including Starwood Hotels and Resorts and Hyatt Hotels and Resorts.
Ryan looks forward to working with the entire team at GMCVB along with the stakeholders and community on “moving the needle” to the next plateau, he noted.
As a committed volunteer and leader within industry organizations such as PCMA, Ryan considers himself both a game changer and a supporter of industry causes and needs. He prides himself on his volunteer work both within the hospitality industry as well as community organizations where he finds some of his most gratifying moments.
