These days, frequent meeting-goers who enjoy a crisp craft beer can look forward to a pint at local breweries throughout Idaho.
From Intimidation IPA and Wolf’s Oatmeal Stout, among other brews at Idaho Falls-based Idaho Brewing Company, to Twisted Stick Amber Ale and Belligerent Ass Nut Brown Ale, two of the icebreaker names on tap at Pocatello-based Portneuf Valley Brewing, there are quite a few opportunities statewide for attendees to make a sudsy toast after the meeting.
The lineup of beers at Boise Brewing includes the hoppy Hip Check IPA, the light and refreshing Broad Street Blonde and Snow Boarder Porter, a dark option with hints of coffee and sweet caramel that’s meant to warm up its drinkers after a day on the slopes. The tasting room is open to groups or they can arrange an event in the brewery’s mezzanine.
The tasting room at Payette Brewing Company, located 10 minutes from Boise in Garden City, is available for either group events or if attendees would just like to swing by for tastes of Rustler IPA, Mutton Buster Brown Ale, North Fork Lager and other brews.
Located in downtown Coeur d’Alene within walking distance of the Coeur d’Alene Resort is Taphouse Unchained, which, rather than make its own beers, showcases 24 different microbrews and ciders that rotate on a daily basis. It offers indoor seating for 160 people and outdoor sidewalk seating.
Also in Coeur d’Alene is Trickster’s Brewing Company, a craft brewery that accommodates tours and tastings. Beers here include Inspector Stonewall Amber Ale, Cougar Bay Blonde and Coyote Morning IPA.
Representing Sun Valley are Ketchum-based Sawtooth Brewery and Hailey-based Sun Valley Brewing Company, purveyors of many delicious beers including Freeheeler Rye IPA and Flying Squirrel Stout, respectively.
Sawtooth accommodates private parties, with food delivered by favorite local eateries, while Sun Valley Brewing recently merged its brewery and cafe so groups can taste beers as well as pastas, burgers, steaks, pizzas and more.
