Cleveland Expanding

The Cleveland skyline is changing yet again, with the new 32-story LEED Silver-certified hotel downtown. The 600-guest room Hilton Cleveland Downtown debuted overlooking Lake Erie and FirstEnergy Stadium. The property is connected to the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland and adjacent to the Global Center for Health Innovation.

“The opening of Hilton Cleveland Downtown signifies not only a historic occasion for the city of Cleveland, but for Hilton Hotels & Resorts,” said Shawn McAteer, vice president, global brand management, full-service brands, Hilton Worldwide. “This is the first Hilton Worldwide’s flagship brand in Cleveland, opening as this city continues to transform into a must-visit destination. The sleek, contemporary design embodies a new era of Hilton hotels and represents our future.”

The convention-style property offers over 50,000 square feet of meeting space, including the nearly 20,800-square-foot Grand Ballroom that can accommodate up to 2,300 people. There is also a junior ballroom and nine meeting rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and lake views that can host groups from 15 to 1,700. There is an additional 225,000 square feet of exhibit space and more than 90,000 square feet of meeting space over 35 rooms at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland.

“Our downtown is experiencing a renaissance and I can’t wait for the world to see it,” said Armond Budish, a Cuyahoga County executive. “Thanks to our community investments in the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland, the Global Center for Health Innovation and now Hilton Cleveland Downtown, we are attracting major events to downtown Cleveland and visitors from across the globe, increasing the economic impact for our residents and region.”

The hotel’s signature restaurant, The Burnham, named after the architect who designed the city of Cleveland, Daniel Burnham, is three levels while Bar 32 is located on the top floor offering views of the city and lake. There is also Eliot’s Bar, featuring communal workspace and its namesake Lakes Brewing Co. beer on tap.
