Maine
Following a $40 million renovation, Cape Neddick’s Cliff House will reopen in August. The property is on 60 acres atop Bald Head Cliff offering 132 guest rooms that have terraces with water views. The on-site restaurants and bars use local ingredients and menus are influenced by the products of the state, like The Tiller, which will serve farm-fresh local produce and line-caught fish and has an outdoor bar. Nubb’s Lobster Shack will serve Maine lobster rolls, fried clams and burgers with a selection of local craft beers. The property offers over 25,000 square feet of meeting space for up to 300 guests, including 11 meeting spaces with ocean views, a ballroom and a 150-seat amphitheater. There are activities for all seasons, including an 18-hole golf course adjacent to the property as well as tennis, hiking, biking, sea kayaking, fishing, paddle boarding, ice skating, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and helicopter tours of the nearby lighthouses.

Maryland
Pendry Hotels is opening its first East Coast property, Sagamore Pendry Baltimore. Located in the waterfront neighborhood of Fells Point on Recreation Pier, the 128-room hotel is slated to open in early 2017. Fells Point once served as the second-largest point of entry into the U.S. after Ellis Island, and Recreation Pier, originally built in 1914, was previously a dance hall and social gathering hub for early 20th century immigrants. The hotel will feature multiple dining options, including a full-service restaurant and whiskey bar and an outdoor pool at the pier’s end with cabanas and a bar and grill. The grand ballroom will be restored and the property will feature over 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. The hotel will also be home to an art collection including a Botero horse sculpture.

Massachusetts
The Charles Hotel, located in Boston’s Harvard Square, unveiled its renovations. The 295 guest rooms were upgraded with new furniture, energy-saving light systems, new amenities and superfood minibars. The property, which has hosted presidents, prime ministers and the Dalai Lama, features a famed art collection along with new additions. There is 18,000 square feet of meeting space, including 15 meeting rooms and the 4,700-square-foot Charles Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 600 for a reception.

New York
The Radisson Hotel Niagara Falls­–Grand Island opened alongside the banks of the Upper Niagara River and nearby Niagara Falls State Park. The 263-room hotel features 26,000 square feet of meeting and event space over two floors and can accommodate up to 750 people. There are 12 meeting rooms as well as a gazebo that overlooks the river. The hotel offers indoor and outdoor pools and the on-site restaurant Currents serves American-style cuisine.

Quebec
Le Meridien Versailles completed the renovation of its 108 guest rooms, which include two penthouse suites, the debut of a new lobby and unveiled new meeting and public spaces within the hotel. The Montreal property now features Meridien Hub, a reinterpretation of the traditional hotel lobby into a social gathering place with coffee and cocktail programming from day to night as well as art installations throughout the space. The more than 2,600 square feet of renovated meeting space features new technology and panoramic windows offering views of downtown. Located in the Golden Square Mile, nearby The Museum District, the hotel has partnered with Priority Bicycles to offer guests an active way to explore the city.
