A new rooftop lounge and restaurant made its debut in Charlottesville. Heirloom, named in honor of Thomas Jefferson, who had a passionate commitment to agriculture, opened on the ninth floor of the Graduate Charlottesville hotel.
“Heirloom was designed with Virginia’s agricultural history in mind,” said Andrew Alford, chief creative officer of AJ Capital Partners, which owns and operates the property. “The space pays homage to rustic farming materials and hand-crafted techniques that have been handed down through generations such as blacksmithing and needlework. Overall, Heirloom is a fresh take on rustic design that complements a spectacular view.”
With views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the menu focuses on both small and large plates with a Southern twist and commitment to local farmers and artisans. Guests can expect to see items such as pork belly doughnuts, Kite’s ham sliders and johnnycakes along with Virginia craft beer and handcrafted cocktails.
“We are passionate about locally sourced ingredients and have highlighted each ingredient in such a way that it pays homage to the history of Charlottesville,” said Andrew Koerper, general manager of food and beverage. “At Heirloom, expect the history of Charlottesville to be paired with a modern twist on Southern classics while enjoying a stunning 360-degree view of the city.”
The “Top of The Corner” meeting and function space can host private events, social and corporate functions. Inside the hotel, there is a ballroom that can accommodate 170 and the brand’s Game Room, a space with shuffleboard, a foosball table, ping pong tables and a bar, which smaller groups can reserve.
