Eldorado Resorts completed the purchase of Silver Legacy Resort Casino and Circus Circus Reno in November 2015. The company’s portfolio now includes the three largest hotel-casinos in downtown Reno. Eldorado Hotel Casino, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus are all interconnected via indoor walkways. Together, the three properties boast 4,200 hotel rooms, 182,700 square feet of meeting space, 28 restaurants and 291,000 square feet of gaming.
Upon completion of a $15 million remodel, Siena Hotel will be transformed into the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel & Spa. The 214-room riverfront property is losing its gaming floor and gaining a bocce ball court and a new restaurant. Siena is also refinishing its pool and hot tub and completely renovating its guest suites and 12,000 square feet of meeting space. The grand reopening is scheduled for January 2017.
At Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, Toucan Charlie’s Buffet & Grille reopened in March after a multimillion-dollar renovation project. The highly rated restaurant is one of nearly a dozen at Atlantis, which offers 824 guest rooms and 50,000 square feet of meeting space. Also this year, Spa Atlantis garnered a Four-Star designation from Forbes Travel Guide. Atlantis has received a Four Diamond award from AAA for several consecutive years.
Courtyard by Marriott Reno Downtown/Riverfront is slated to open in August. The downtown property will offer 127 guest rooms, one meeting room and an outdoor swimming pool near the Reno Aces Stadium, Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
In summer 2015, Grand Sierra Resort completed a $10 million renovation of its Grand Theatre. The 2,700-seat theater installed state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, widened aisles, increased leg room, and added the potential for flexible seating and standing options at the front of the stage. Grand Sierra boasts more than 1,900 guest rooms and 200,000 square feet of meeting space.
Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks is currently undergoing a guest room upgrade. The 1,400-room property offers 110,000 square feet of event space, as well as restaurants and top-tier entertainment.
