Sheraton Hotels & Resorts announced the opening of the Sheraton Grand Hangzhou Binjiang Hotel. The hotel, located nearby the renowned West Lake and Xiang Lake, offers 301 guest rooms. The hotel has a variety of international dining experiences, including Yue Chinese restaurant, which serves contemporary Cantonese, Sichuan and local Hangzhou cuisines, and FEAST, the Sheraton brand’s signature restaurant, with an open kitchen and a lobby lounge featuring a large selection of single malts and cocktails as well as traditional tea. The lobby bar also offers Paired, the Sheraton brand’s food and beverage program that matches small plates, premium wines and craft beers. The hotel has 11 function rooms as well as an 8,000-square-foot pillarless ballroom that can accommodate up to 500 guests.
France
Renaissance Paris Republique Hotel opened in the La Republique neighborhood near Le Marais. The hotel, which was a former home for traveling artists, has 121 guest rooms inspired by local artist workshops. The new hotel offers nearly 1,600 square feet of meeting space across three rooms, as well as Origin Restaurant, serving classic French dishes, Martin Bar and Spa O.
Germany
New Century Hotel Frankfurt Offenbach debuted near the Rhine River adjacent to the Mercedes Benz Frankfurt Rhine headquarters and Hyundai’s European headquarters. With 223 rooms, guests can easily access both Frankfurt and Offenbach. The hotel features East Side restaurant as well as Four Seasons Chamber, which has four private dining rooms and serves traditional Chinese cuisine. There are six meeting rooms and a banquet hall that can accommodate 200 guests.
Japan
DoubleTree by Hilton Naha Shuri Castle opened in July. The 20-story hotel features 333 guest rooms and is adjacent to Shuri Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site that was once the residence of royalty. There are three restaurants and a Sunset Lounge bar on the top floor with panoramic views. Grand Castle Cafe & Dining can seat 230 guests and offers buffet-style dining, and its six banquet rooms can accommodate large banquets and events. The 6,300-square-foot ballroom can accommodate nearly 500 people.
Portugal
The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood, announced the re-opening of Pine Cliffs Hotel, a Luxury Collection Resort, Algarve following an 18-month renovation. The hotel’s 217 guest rooms, public spaces and facilities transformation was inspired by Portuguese heritage with historic features such as the hotel’s azulejos, which are traditional hand-painted tiles, creating the headboards in every room. Grand panels recounting the discoveries of Vasco da Gama and Ferdinand Magellan as well as a detailed map reproduction of the Mediterranean by medieval cartographer Giorgio Sideri can be seen throughout the lobby. The property features 11 restaurants and bars, a new spa, six pools and a nine-hole golf course. There is over 23,000 square feet of meeting and event space across 13 meeting rooms.
Singapore
The South Beach hotel, a 634-room property, will become JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach. The hotel, located adjacent to Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, will feature nine food and beverage outlets, including a specialty restaurant from world renowned award-winning chef Akira Back. Most of the hotel’s guest rooms and facilities are in the 45-story tower while the space within the low-rise, historical buildings will be converted to the additional restaurants and bars. The hotel currently offers 19 meeting rooms and 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
