Kayaking races on three of the earth's five bioluminescent bays? Zipping through the sky on the tallest zip line in the world? Hiking a tropical rainforest? These are just three of the ‘only in Puerto Rico’ experiences available to meeting planners. In addition to the Caribbean's largest and most technically advanced convention center, Puerto Rico's wide variety of offerings answer the dreams of planners and attendees alike—turning meeting lists into bucket lists.
The experiences groups take away from their visit to Puerto Rico are vital to the meeting's success. Attendees are offered many bucket list activities that get them out exploring nature: hiking El Yunque, kayaking La Parguera in Lajas (one of the world's five remaining bioluminescent bays), visiting Camuy Caves (one of the longest underground river systems), exploring the Arecibo Observatory (featuring the largest radio telescope on the planet), plus flying high on the world’s tallest zip line (certified by Guinness Book of World Records).
With 500 years of history and culture, Old San Juan is the oldest city in the United States. Beyond that, no other Caribbean island has more galleries, museums, or festivals dedicated to local artisans and their crafts. No matter when or why you visit, Puerto Rico's culture will embrace you and your delegates with once-in-a-lifetime experiences and activities.
Designed by Tvsdesign, the Pedro Rosselló Puerto Rico Convention Center (PRCC) suggests a wave in motion. Its colors reflect the vibrant natural palette of the Caribbean and at 152,696 sq. ft., PRCC is the Caribbean's largest facility of its kind. Offering the region's latest technology and accommodating 10 to 10,000 in world-class style, PRCC District already boasts approximately 8,000 guestrooms within eight miles of downtown San Juan, including the Condado and Isla Verde tourist zones, plus an ever-growing roster of top-rated hotels and resorts bring the island's total guestrooms to 15,000.
Not only can planners arrange the best conferences—with over 1,800 weekly flights from the U.S. mainland and international destinations (1,499 non-stop and 382 direct flights from the U.S.), getting to Puerto Rico has never been easier. With the now complete $750 million renovation of Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (LMM), plus an additional $200 million enhancement program in the works, Puerto Rico continues as the Caribbean’s leader in air travel. Now, attendees from virtually anywhere can show up for a professional meeting and simultaneously check off their bucket lists — all on an exotic tropical island in the Caribbean.
If Puerto Rico weren't tempting enough already, Meet Puerto Rico recently launched the $10 + $10 Meeting Promotion, rewarding meeting and incentive industry planners for booking groups at select Puerto Rico hotels and resorts (20+ participating). This applies to new leads or groups generated on or after Apr. 10, 2016; the contract must be signed by or before Sep. 30, 2016, with the travel window until Dec. 20, 2017.
For each booked room night, Meet Puerto Rico will contribute $5. In addition, each participating hotel* will provide a match of $5, totaling $10 per booked room night (contributions not applicable to room rate, tax, incidentals, or resort fee). In addition, participating hotels will offer an additional $10 rebate on the resort fee—hence the name the $10 + $10 Meeting Promotion.
This promotion applies to new groups booking 10+ rooms per night and a minimum of 30 room nights. (Not applicable to weddings, family reunions, social events, or repeat business).
