Santo Domingo
Operated under the Marriott chain, the historic 300-room Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino recently reopened after extensive renovations. Improvements were made to the property’s guest rooms, pool, spa, gym, restaurants, shops, lobby and more. The hotel features 13 event rooms with more than 37,000 square feet of meeting space and a maximum capacity of 1,200 people.
The 190-room Radisson Hotel Santo Domingo opened in March 2015 with a full-service bar, restaurant, business center, fitness center and more. It’s located in the center of Santo Domingo’s business and commercial district and features meeting space for up to 600 people.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts recently opened the Sheraton Santo Domingo Hotel. Formerly the Meliá Santo Domingo, the hotel was renovated to reflect Sheraton standards and now boasts more than 250 guest rooms, 13 function spaces for up to 1,000 people, a fitness facility, a massage facility, a casino, outdoor swimming pool, gourmet dining options and more.
Punta Cana
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana recently completed an extensive renovation to its sports complex in partnership with U.S.-based sports company Camp Woodward. Activities available to guests now include dry-land snowboarding, indoor snow skiing, skateboarding, trampoline, hip-hop dance and more. The Hard Rock offers 65,000 square feet of meeting space that accommodates up to 3,960 attendees.
La Romana
Viva Wyndham Resorts completed a renovation to its Dominicus Palace resort in October 2015. Improvements include new seating and tables in the resort’s restaurant as well as a redesign of the hotel lobby. Amenities include a 2,454-square-foot meeting room that accommodates up to 250 people.
