Missouri State Penitentiary Museum recently moved to nearby Marmaduke House. Built by prisoners in 1888, the stately brick home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum, originally the home of the prison’s first warden, houses artifacts and displays relating to the prison’s history. Groups larger than 10 should make reservations to visit the museum. Marmaduke House is also the headquarters for the Jefferson City CVB.
