Sheraton Hotels and Resorts announced the completion of the extensive renovation of the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas.
Port Douglas is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest and the property is located on Four Mile Beach with direct beach access. All 294 guest rooms were upgraded and the refresh also features the Sheraton brand’s debut of SPG Keyless in Asia Pacific, a mobile and keyless entry system that allows Starwood Preferred Guest members to use their smartphone as a key to their rooms through the SPG app.
“The Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort renovation truly underscores the Sheraton brand’s new elevated and customized approach to design as part of Sheraton 2020, a 10-point plan designed to put Sheraton back in the global spotlight,” said Vincent Ong, senior director, Brand Management, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific. “From the Tropical North Queensland inspired color palette, to the local-inspired dining choices, Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the destination from the second they step foot on property.”
41 Lagoon Edge rooms and 12 Lagoon Edge studio suites on the ground floor were added and all feature private balconies offering direct access to the saltwater lagoon swimming pools.
The resort also revamped the porte cochére and main entrance and 26 cabanas were added surrounding the lagoon pools. The private daybeds offer VIP service, with bar staff delivering refreshing beverages and food, ranging from classic cocktails to bar snacks directly to the cabana.
The property offers a variety of dining options, from the Lobby Café to the debut of the Sheraton brand’s signature restaurant, Feast, featuring an interactive buffet and alfresco poolside dining on the outdoor deck with expanded seating to accommodate additional guests. Additionally, the remodeled Daintree Bar & Lounge will offer the Sheraton brand’s Paired menu, a selection of small plates expertly matched with wines and craft beers.
There is about 17,000 square feet of meeting space including 17 indoor and outdoor venues. The 8,600-square-foot Glade Pavilion is the largest pillarless conference facility in the region and can accommodate up to 1,000 people.
