KEY LARGO, Fla.
Playa Largo Resort & Spa, the first resort to be built in the Upper Keys in more than 21 years and the 100th addition to Autograph Collection Hotels, has opened.
The 144-room resort is on 14 waterfront acres and features tennis courts, a basketball court, watersport rentals and a marina, as well as ten secluded bungalows and a three-bedroom beach house with private plunge pool.
“Playa Largo was conceived from a desire to offer visitors to Key Largo a luxurious and modern full-service resort option–something that until now wasn’t available here,” said Shakir Hussain, general manager. “We are redefining what it means to travel to the Florida Keys and are thrilled to be welcoming our first guests this week and our first groups soon after.”
There are three on-site restaurants, including a steakhouse, La Marea, Las Olas, a ceviche and sushi bar and seafood-focused Sol by the Sea.
The property offers 27,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event spaces including an 8,600-square-foot event lawn that can accommodate 1,400 people and a 6,000-square-foot ballroom that has a capacity of 500 guests for a reception.
