Slated for completion by March 2017, the second and final development phase of Kalahari Resorts and Conventions will double the current indoor waterpark to 200,000 square feet, creating the largest such facility in the nation, and add 500 additional rooms, bringing the total to close to 1,000, plus three new restaurants.
Altoona/Blair County
The full-service Altoona Grand Hotel is nearing completion of a $2 million refresh that includes 124 newly renovated guest rooms plus a conference center with a divisible grand ballroom for 550 guests and two additional meeting rooms.
Offering 48,000 square feet of flexible space, the Blair County Convention Center has initiated a five-year, $5.8 million capital expenditure plan through 2021 that will include a host of new amenities.
Bucks County
Historic French Chateau-style Hotel du Village just outside of New Hope is now under management by Jersey City, N.J.-based Landmark Hospitality. Along with 22 newly remodeled guest rooms, the hotel offers two newly restored ballrooms plus several smaller rooms for corporate meetings.
Landmark Hospitality has also taken over management of New Hope’s historic 16-room Logan Inn, one of the oldest inns in the country. The property is underway with a major renovation that will add a new building with 17 guest rooms and group space.
