Australia
The Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort unveiled its $32 million renovation. Port Douglas is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest and the property is located on Four Mile Beach. All 294 guest rooms were upgraded and now feature keyless entry systems. New are the 41 Lagoon Edge rooms and 12 Lagoon Edge studio suites on the ground floor with private balconies offering access to the saltwater lagoon swimming pools. There is about 17,000 square feet of meeting space, including 17 indoor and outdoor venues. The 8,600-square-foot Glade Pavilion is the largest pillarless conference facility in the region and can accommodate up to 1,000 people.

Chile
Radisson Blu Santiago La Dehesa debuted and is the brand’s first location in the country. Formerly the Radisson Santiago La Dehesa, the hotel recently completely an extensive renovation that included a redesigned lobby, updates to dining facilities and its 105 guest rooms. The hotel’s restaurant, Zafran, features international cuisine from head chef Hugo Rueda. Meeting facilities include five conference rooms that can accommodate groups of up to 200 guests.

Indonesia
The Westin Jakarta opened in the city’s mixed-use Gama Tower. Occupying floors 50 to 69, the 272-room hotel offers four dining venues, including a rooftop bar. The property features an 11,840-square-foot ballroom that can accommodate 1,200 guests as well as other meeting and event venues that total nearly 32,300 square feet.

Macau
Wynn Palace debuted on the Cotai Strip. The 1,700-room property features 26,250 square feet of function space, including a nearly 17,400-square-foot Grand Theater, four meeting rooms and two boardrooms. The resort’s floral design theme can be seen throughout with large-scale floral displays and artwork. Other resort features include areal SkyCabs that cross the eight-acre Performance Lake, a spa, over 10 restaurants and bars and retail outlets.

New Zealand
The 192-room Chateau on the Park Christchurch, a DoubleTree by Hilton opened. Formerly Chateau on the Park, the property is adjacent to Hagley Park, within walking distance to Christchurch Botanic Gardens and the western business district, and just a five-minute drive into the city. The hotel offers the Den Bar and the Garden Court Brasserie for all-day alfresco dining. The hotel also features seven meeting spaces totaling 16,800 square feet, including the 3,480-square-foot Great Hall that can accommodate 340 people.

Taiwan
The 189-room amba Taipei Songshan opened in the top five floors of a new 21-story tower. The hotel’s lobby is on the 17th floor with views of the city skyline, including the Taipei 101 building, and features SPIN, a communal games room with a custom-made ping pong table and a foosball table. Artwork and graphic designs by local artists are displayed throughout the hotel and each guest doorway features different artwork inspired by significant events in the year of the corresponding room number. The property offers nearly 10,000 square feet of meeting space, including Que restaurant, which can accommodate up to 240 and has a private room that can seat 50.
