Arizona
Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa is scheduled to open this fall on 23 acres is Paradise Valley, less than two miles north of Old Town Scottsdale. The resort’s 201 bungalow-style guest rooms are situated in clusters, connected by pathways and communal courtyards with fire pits. At the center of the resort, the Guest House will serve as a social gathering place and includes a restaurant, lounge and patio. There is more than 36,000 square feet of outdoor event space and 10,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, including a ballroom, and studios ranging in size from 650 to 1,600 square feet that lead to outdoor patios and function spaces. The Retreat is a cluster of 23 guest rooms on-property that surround a pool, event and outdoor dining areas.

California
Davidson Hotels & Resorts now manages the 161-room Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach. Overlooking Carlsbad State Beach, the property offers nearly 15,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space. The 3,000-square-foot Wavecrest Ballroom can accommodate 250 guests while the Garden Terrace has capacity for 400 people. The hotel offers complimentary shuttle service within five miles of the property.

Colorado
Summit Hotel Properties acquired the 157-room Boulder Marriott. The hotel is within walking distance to the University of Colorado, the Pearl Street Mall and the new 29th Street Mall. Canyons Restaurant & Lounge offers all-day dining and there is a Starbuck’s on-property. The hotel features nearly 5,000 square feet of meeting space, including six banquet rooms that can accommodate 275 people in total and offers views of the Rocky Mountains.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Southeast completed a multimillion-dollar renovation. The transformation includes updates to all of its 205 suites, in-house restaurant and other public areas. More than 6,000 square feet of meeting space was also remodeled and includes a ballroom and four meeting rooms. The hotel’s atrium can also be used for events. The property is located less than 10 miles from Denver’s main business district and 25 miles from Denver International Airport.

Mexico
AC Hotels by Marriott unveiled its first hotel in Mexico, the AC Hotel Guadalajara. The 188-room hotel features the brand’s AC Lounge with local craft beer, cocktails, wine and tapas as well as the adjacent AC Kitchen. On the 12th floor is the open-air Sky Deck with an infinity pool, fitness center and lounge. The property offers 9,900 square feet of meeting space, including seven meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 200 guests.

W Punta de Mita opened in the Riviera Nayarit. The new hotel’s design features influences from the local surf culture as well as the country’s history via traditional Mexican artwork and handcrafts displayed throughout the property. The Living Room, the brand’s eclectic, casual-networking-friendly version of a lobby, is inspired by a traditional Palapa and features one large space with no walls and a bar that replicates an altar, including a chandelier hanging over designed to look like church candles. The hotel offers 114 guest rooms and a 4,460-square-foot Extreme WOW Suite. There are three indoor meeting rooms that total 1,700 square feet, as well as outdoor options for groups, including tented beachfront dining venues and reception spaces.
