Another year down as we close the door on 2016 and welcome in 2017.
And what a year 2016 will be remembered for, and not entirely for the best reasons. It seems that many of our music heroes—or at least mine!—booked that one-way flight to the great gig in the sky this year, we had a presidential election that pretty much had everyone craving pictures of cute puppies on Facebook instead of political posts before it was over, and the Cleveland Indians once again didn’t win the World Series.
On the plus side of the ledger, the Cubs won the World Series (which makes a lot of folks happy in our Cedar Rapids, Iowa, headquarters!); Meetings Today completed a major magazine redesign that culminated a rebranding of our company name and sharpening of our mission to bring you “People + Places”; and we also got to meet up with many of you on the road at the various meetings industry events, including our own Meetings Today Live! programs, that end up adding structure to the year as it winds its way to the end. Check out our Departments section this issue to see some coverage of a couple of the more recent events.
So, thanks for hanging with us all year; providing your comments and suggestions for improving our content; attending our live events and webinars; engaging with us on our various social media channels; and generally just keeping the machinery of the meetings industry rolling, day in and day out, regardless of the challenges we all face in our personal and professional lives.
Let’s hope for high clover next year, and in the meantime, enjoy your journey no matter where the pasture takes you.
